Late payments: affecting small businesses cashflow

A persistent and pernicious problem is eating away at the productivity of our small companies

t’s a challenge that few firms feel they can talk publicly about, for fear of losing customers. For many small business owners, it remains one of the greatest pressures they face. This problem is late payments.

According to research from Sage, the accounting, HR and payroll corporation, £55bn is currently owed to the UK’s small and medium-sized businesses in outstanding invoices. This is an eye-watering unpaid bill.
